RECORDING – TAKE HEART ORIGINAL SCORE
In an epic recording session Composer Adam Starr and Didgeridoo Virtuoso Mark Atkins have laid down an incredible original score for Take Heart: The Quest to Rid Australasia of Rheumatic Heart Disease.
Mark traveled down from his hometown outside Tamworth to Melbourne to do the recording at Pughouse Studios.
Mike Hill, Take Heart’s director said, “It has been a dream of mine to bring together Adam, who I have regularly collaborated with since 2000, and Mark, who I became a huge fan of many years ago after seeing him perform with Black Arm Band at Hamer Hall. This fusion of two maestros at the top of their games has exceeded all my expectations.”
The hypnotic and evocative original score for Take Heart features performances by Mark Atkins (Didgeridoo, Percussion), Hayden Meggitt (Drums, Percussion) and Adam Starr (Bass, Guitar, Percussion, Flute).
Thanks also to Haydon Meggitt and Niko Schauble for their efforts recording the score.
